On
August 30th and 31st, 2002, the Upper Arlington Fire Fighters took to the
streets. Over 20 off duty brother & sister fire fighters, in
addition to all of the on-duty crews, were present. We spent a total of 10 hours standing in the
"5-points" intersection with boots in hand
asking the residents of our community to help us help the MDA!
Every year, the fire fighters are overwhelmed by the open generosity of the residents of this great city.
In 2002, we collected over $10,000 in those few hours that we stood in the street!
From people donating the loose
change in their ashtrays, to one passer-by who dropped a $100 bill in
Brother Scott's boot, the generosity was non-stop!
